Tesco employee receives £7,200 compensation for shelf collapse injury
The incident
Our client – a Tesco Stores Limited employee – was involved in an incident where she was injured due to a shelf collapsing.
She and a colleague were moving a magnetic poster in the store. While they were fitting the poster to the wall, the shelf above them – which had around 40 litres of milk cartons on – collapsed.
As a result, the claimant suffered injuries to her shoulder, neck and arm.
Our client naturally sought compensation for this incident, which is where we came in to help.
The aftermath
Due to the weight of the shelf collapsing, our client suffered soft tissue injuries.
These injuries were to her right shoulder, neck and right arm.
The case and outcome
The case was handled by both Trainee Solicitor Edward Ratcliffe and Litigation Executive James Hammond
The client received a settlement of £7,200 to compensate for the injuries she sustained as a result of the incident.
James – the Litigation Executive who worked on the case – said: “The defendant’s side argued some parts of the case, but we settled the case for a quantum amount that was still reasonable.”
Speaking of their professional relationship, James said: “The relationship between the client and I was a good one, and I know she was happy with me as her file handler.”
“We’re glad to have worked with this client as we were able to get a good result for her.”
