Who am I

I’m a qualified Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Specialist with over 23 years of experience across the statutory, private, and charitable sectors. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with clients facing a wide range of challenges, supporting them to access services, overcome barriers, and improve their quality of life.

My experience spans health, social care, education, case management, and medico legal settings, giving me a broad understanding of the support systems available to clients. I have particular experience supporting individuals with catastrophic and life changing injuries, with a focus on rehabilitation, recovery, and promoting long term independence.

What I specialise in

Why I do this work

I’ve worked in the health and social care sector for many years and have seen people struggle to access the services and support they are entitled to at the time they need them most. I gain great satisfaction from helping people navigate complex systems and supporting them to build confidence and regain control of their lives.

I also bring a personal perspective to my work through my own lived experience as a carer for a brain injury survivor, which has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges individuals and families can face and the importance of practical, compassionate support.

How I work with clients

I’m an active listener and like to work alongside clients at their own pace. I believe in working in partnership with people to identify their key priorities and create practical steps that help move things forward. My focus is always on ensuring clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the process.

Outcomes

ANON

I supported a 39 year old mother of three with a spinal injury, helping her become more involved with organisations such as the Spinal Injuries Association and ensuring she had support from a local authority Occupational Therapist to assist with moving home.

ANON

I also supported a spinal injured client who was experiencing homelessness by liaising with housing departments to ensure they understood his needs, while connecting him with specialist charities such as Aspire and advising on additional support available through his GP and social prescribing services.

ANON

I’ve also helped an amputee access the correct pathways to ensure her long term housing needs were properly assessed, while linking her with local charities able to provide ongoing support.

My team

Our team brings together decades of experience supporting people with serious, life-changing injuries. Julie’s nursing and case management background, alongside my experience across health, social care and education, provide a strong foundation of practical support. With Siobhan’s leadership and legal expertise, we offer a well-rounded approach to supporting our clients.

What I enjoy about working at Fletchers

Every day brings a different challenge, which is something I really enjoy. As colleagues across the business continue to learn more about the support our team can provide and the impact we have for clients, referrals continue to grow. I also value the opportunity to access specialist training and develop my role as it continues to evolve.
