How our client was injured aboard
What began as a long-awaited holiday to Gran Canaria with her husband, booked through Jet2 Holidays, turned into a distressing experience for our client. One evening, after heavy rainfall, our client slipped in a hotel corridor that was in complete darkness, with a skylight left open, allowing rainwater to pool on the floor. The fall resulted in serious injuries and a long recovery for our client.
Injuries and Impact after fall at a hotel
As a result of the fall, our client suffered fractures to her neck and shoulder in three places. She was left in severe pain while in a foreign country, and the rest of her trip was significantly affected by the accident.
Since the incident, she can no longer drive, struggles to hold her newborn grandson, and finds it difficult to feed herself. She is also fearful of being bumped by others in
She was offered an elective procedure to replace her shoulder joint and help improve her symptoms. However, as a breast cancer survivor who had undergone a double mastectomy just seven years earlier, she understandably felt apprehensive about undergoing further major surgery. She made the difficult decision not to undergo this further surgery.
