I’m committed to providing the highest level of support, legal advice, and compensation for the people I support. I understand the importance of handling matters both efficiently and compassionately, particularly for people who are struggling to come to terms with the impact of their injuries or the injuries suffered by their loved ones.

I consider that it is important for injured people and their families to obtain answers, accountability and compensation when they have suffered from medical negligence. Access to justice is very important to me and supporting vulnerable clients, regardless of the value of their claim, is a strong driver in doing this work. Clinical negligence cases often involve clients who have suffered serious, life changing harm and being able to help them and support them in getting a resolution to their claim is a strong motivator for me.

My approach to my clinical negligence work is to strive to achieve the best results for my clients by ensuring that I listen to them, support them every step of the way and ensure that their best interests are at the forefront of my efforts. I understand the need to deal with clients compassionately while providing the highest standards of legal advice and fighting to get them the compensation and answers that they deserve.

In this difficult case, compensation meant that the parents were able to give back to a charity that had supported them though this difficult time – this was something really important to them.

This case highlighted poor care by a GP and practice nurse which led to the deceased suffering from maggots in her leg wounds and ultimately dying from a presumed DVT. The client (husband) needed the closure of the claim being settled and had a very strong sense of justice.

We secured a settlement of £1,250,000, the evening before a 5 day trial was due to begin. This affected a client who suffered a psychiatric injury and bodily distress disorder resulting in serious disability and persisting pain following spinal fusion surgery. Settlement for this client allowed her to purchase a home that is suitable for her needs and provide her with the independence that she needs to be able to move on and obtain the necessary treatment.

We secured a settlement of £650,000 for the estate of a 55-year deceased male who sadly committed suicide following the Defendant’s failure to properly assess him and admit him for psychiatric care.

My team has many years of experience between them, bringing a strong legal knowledge alongside a caring, supportive way of working. My team are diligent, tenacious and highly supportive of my clients in a caring and compassionate way.

I am lucky enough to be able to be a HoD and have a very varied case load and so to be able to continue to work with clients to help them through the complex and emotional process of bringing a claim. My role is highly fulfilling as I am able to both support these clients and also develop more junior colleagues to grow and learn. I enjoy the culture and camaraderie of team work here and have delighted in being able to support my team members’ growth and development and being able to provide them with promotion opportunities in the time that I have been here.

Outside of work, my hobbies include singing and performing and I have played a variety of lead roles in well-known musicals. My singing has also helped me to be able to support the charity work that we do including, most recently being the entertainment at the Backup thank you event. Family is very important to me, and I particularly enjoy being a mum to two amazing young men and am, not very secretly, incredibly proud of what they are achieving in their lives. I love to read and a book is my go-to for total immersion and relaxation.
