Our client, a 40-year-old engineer, was cycling in a designated cycle lane when a driver emerged from a side road and collided with his bike, throwing him over the car’s bonnet. The client sustained several injuries, including sprains to his right shoulder, both wrists, groin, and right thumb, as well as soft tissue damage to his groin and right thigh, with bruising to his ribs and left thigh.

Motorbike accident injury case settles for £8,000 despite liability challenges

In 2021, our client, a 21-year-old man, was travelling by motorbike when a car turned across his path. He sustained multiple soft tissue injuries, and the incident also exacerbated existing mental health difficulties.   

The case was handled by Associate Solicitor at Fletchers. Initially, the third-party insurers agreed to handle the claim on a ‘without prejudice to liability’ basis, meaning they were willing to make an offer without formally admitting fault.  

However, due to the time limits for personal injury claims, we had to act quickly. The claim had to be issued as it had not settled before the three- year limitation period approached. Despite agreeing to deal with the claim on a without prejudice basis before the claim was issued, the defendant denied liability afterwards.  However, we successfully secured a substantial settlement of £8,000, enabling our client to move forward and put the accident behind him.

While riding his motorcycle, our client, a 36-year-old engineer, was involved in a road traffic accident when another vehicle turned across his path. He sustained soft tissue injuries to his upper body and developed a cyst on his wrist, needing physiotherapy. Due to his wrist injury, he also had to take time off work.
