Forklift driver suffers life‑changing injury at work

The incident

Our client, a 30-year-old forklift driver was using a saw at work, when he received life-changing injuries to his hand.

The client’s left middle finger was injured, resulting in amputation at the PIP joint. He also suffered laceration of the left ring finger, as well as a minor soft tissue injury to the left index finger. As a result of the incident, our client suffered with PTSD and ongoing psychological symptoms.

The case

Following the incident, the man approached Fletchers for legal advice regarding his injury at work claim. He was represented by Chartered Legal Executive, Katie Rutter, who was supported by Assistant Litigation Executive, Rebecca Carroll.

The case outcome

Although liability for the accident was never admitted, we were able to achieve a good settlement amount of £90,000 for our client. Katie Rutter commented on the injury at work case. She said:
