Who am I
I am an Associate Solicitor and Senior Business Development Manager at Fletchers. Before I stepped into my business development role, I specialised in higher value and complex medical negligence claims, some of which exceeded £500k. I enjoyed working on a variety of cases involving medical negligence and personal injury, but my path into business development has been interesting and rewarding.
Why I do this work
I support people who have been seriously injured. My role is working with charities and organisations to help them to support and provide services to those seriously injured people. Part of this support includes facilitating legal support to those individuals, as required in addition to supporting activities within the community. I’m a huge advocate of ‘peer to peer’ support and the importance of lived experience helping someone else in a similar situation.
How I work with clients
Within my role, I attend and support community groups, this can include family days for children with an acquired brain injury, monthly support groups within the spinal injured community etc. These groups provide support for people to access the community and also the opportunity to meet and learn from others in a similar situation.

Outcomes
I’ve met many individuals who, with support, have rebuilt their lives post injury and are now thriving. Families who are now able to take their child with an acquired brain injury to a family fun day, something they previously would not have been able to do without support.
My team
As a team we have empathy. We are hugely supportive and very adaptable.
