Since joining Fletchers in March 2023, I’ve managed a diverse caseload from initial client intake to trial preparation, including handling high value claims alongside senior solicitors and partners. My role involves coordinating with medical experts, attending conferences with counsel, and guiding junior team members to ensure comprehensive client representation.

My journey in law has been focused on medical negligence, starting from my undergraduate degree and progressing through various roles to qualify as a solicitor in March 2023. My passion lies in helping families navigate challenges, particularly in birth injury cases, where the compensation obtained can significantly impact their lives.

We often see stories in the news about maternity care falling short of the standards families deserve. For those affected, the impact can be unimaginable. While a successful claim can’t change what has happened, it can provide vital support and resources to help families move forward and rebuild their lives.

I often visit my clients at home, taking the time to really listen to them and their loved ones so I can fully understand their needs and experiences.

My strong attention to detail also helps me build a settlement that truly reflects the impact of their injury and supports them moving forward.

Birth injury to mother

At 35 weeks pregnant, our client experienced worsening symptoms but was repeatedly reassured during multiple hospital visits, with no diagnosis or treatment provided. Her condition deteriorated, leading to an emergency caesarean section, and her baby was born in poor condition requiring resuscitation.

It was later confirmed she had acute fatty liver of pregnancy, a serious condition that should have been identified earlier. We investigated the care, secured expert evidence, and achieved an early admission of liability and settlement. This has enabled our client to access therapy, begin to process her experience, and rebuild her confidence as a mother.

Outside of my legal work, I’m proud to have contributed as an assistant solicitor in a liability trial, supporting preparation and working alongside counsel throughout a six-day hearing.

I also dedicate time to volunteering at a local legal clinic, supporting parents of children with additional needs, and fundraising for charities that help children with brain injuries.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, shopping, and I’m currently enjoying decorating my home.
