Who am I

I’m a Consultant and Catastrophic Injury Lead in the serious injury team. I have over 25 years of experience supporting injured people and their families after life-changing incidents, and I’ve obtained well over £60 million in damages for my clients over the course of my career.

I’ve helped children and adults who have experienced traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal cord injuries, and psychiatric injuries following serious incidents. My focus and passion is on making a positive difference and doing everything I can to support people affected by trauma.

I’ve also supported many families who have been bereaved, helping them access the emotional and financial support they need. This includes assisting families at inquests and criminal hearings, as well as bringing claims for secondary victims.

What I specialise in

Why I do this work

During my training contract, I worked for a boss who had lost her four-year-old daughter in a drowning incident. She had a passion to help other families impacted by child death and helped me to learn and understand how to be as effective as possible in supporting them. My career soon expanded into helping those affected by life changing injuries and so my own passion to make a positive difference, if only in a small way, grew. Having seen the devastation and suffering by so many former clients over my career, I’m motivated to support and assist them by any means possible using my knowledge, experience and skills via the civil litigation process. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than to have made a difference.

How I work with clients

I believe the key to my successful career has been to try to put myself into their shoes, imagining it has happened to me or members of my own family, and then act with same the passion and tenacity to exceed their expectations. To achieve this, it is crucial to communicate in a way that best suits them, listen to what they want to achieve and progress matters as quickly as possible.

I really enjoy working at Fletchers because of the team of people I work with, the ability to assist clients in the most challenging of circumstances and the flexible working arrangements they offer, which means I can fit my hours around looking after my two young sons.

Outside of work

I’m blessed to have a very close network of family and friends having lived and worked in East Anglia my whole life. I attend local, vibrant Christian churches in the village where I live and also in Cambridge City Centre, which is a major part of my family’s life. I also love travelling, eating out and spa days. In my spare time I renovated our home and I enjoy upcycling furniture and turning ‘trash into treasure’.
