Pedalling for Progress: Nadia Kerr Takes on London–Edinburgh–London to raise awareness for better road safety
This August, Nadia Kerr, Partner and Solicitor at Fletchers and one of the UK’s most passionate voices for cyclist safety, will take on the UK’s greatest self-supported ride: London–Edinburgh–London (LEL). Nadia is passionate about securing justice for people who have suffered serious injuries on our roads – and works closely with our key partners in the fight for safer roads for all.
A self-supported, non-competitive ultra-distance challenge, LEL sees riders cover over 1,500km in just over five days. It’s an extraordinary feat of stamina, strength and grit – and for Nadia, it’s about far more than physical endurance.
Meet Nadia Kerr: An advocate for those who’ve suffered serious injuries through a cycling collision

Nadia leads the cycling injury team at Fletchers. She has over 30 years of legal experience and is a recognised expert in representing cyclists who have been seriously injured on the roads.
Alongside her legal work, Nadia is a Trustee/Director of Cycling UK, where she plays an active role in campaigning for better rights and protections for all road users. She also works closely with local campaign groups in Greater Manchester and was a founding Director of Walk Ride Greater Manchester, helping to shape local and national conversations about cycle safety, infrastructure and education.
More Than a Ride: Making Roads Safer to Reduce Serious Collisions
Nadia is no stranger to the dangers faced by cyclists on UK roads. With years of experience supporting vulnerable road users through complex legal claims, she’s seen the devastating, life-altering consequences of collisions – many of which could have been prevented with better road safety measures, infrastructure and a reduced tolerance to the fact of collisions on our roads.
“Virtually every serious injury case represents a preventable failure – whether in design, awareness, or policy. My goal is to help make roads safer so fewer people end up needing our support.” – Nadia Kerr
Nadia’s ride is a statement. A campaign on wheels. As she travels across the length of the UK, she’ll be representing every client who’s suffered due to things such as poor road conditions, distracted driving, or the lack of protected cycling infrastructure. She’ll also be raising awareness of the reforms still urgently needed to protect cyclists and reduce the rising number of serious injuries on our roads.
What is the London–Edinburgh–London Challenge?
The LEL ride takes place every four years and is widely regarded as Britain’s most gruelling cycling event. Riders from around the world tackle a route stretching from London to Edinburgh and back again, with minimal rest and no personal external support.
The challenge at a glance:
- Distance: Over 1,500km
- Time Limit: Around 125 hours (just over five days)
- Elevation: Thousands of metres of climbing
- Route: Passes through rolling countryside, hills, and national parks across England and Scotland
- Support: Self-supported, with riders managing their own repairs, nutrition, and rest
This Isn’t Her First Challenge
Nadia has taken on several endurance events in recent years – combining her love of cycling with her passion for creating change:
- Lands End to John O’Groats – A charity fundraising ride across the length of Britain
- Mallorca 312 – A notoriously hilly 312km ride in one day
- Maratone dles Dolomites – a gruelling one day ride in the Italian Dolomites
- Club des Cingles Mont Ventoux – 3 ascents of the iconic French mountain in the same day
- All Points North
- Pan Celtic Race
- Each ride has helped raise awareness of the risks cyclists face and has fuelled Nadia’s commitment to securing better outcomes for injured riders through both legal redress and policy reform.
Turning Tragedy into Action
At Fletchers, we deal daily with the impact of serious injury – and we know that behind every case is a person whose life has been changed forever. Nadia’s work is at the heart of our mission: to seek justice, advocate for change, and prevent future harm.
Her upcoming ride isn’t just an athletic challenge – it’s a platform to call for safer, fairer roads. It’s about turning tragedy into action and shining a spotlight on the everyday dangers that far too many cyclists face.
We’ll be cheering Nadia on every step (and pedal) along the way!
