Fletchers Solicitors Launches Employee-Led Fertility Support Network, Led by Sarah Low
At Fletchers Solicitors, we are proud to announce the launch of a new Employee-Led Network dedicated to supporting colleagues who are navigating the complex and often challenging journey of fertility and IVF treatment. This initiative, aptly named Fletchers Fertility Support, is designed to offer a safe space, build a supportive community, and advocate for meaningful change within the workplace.
At the heart of this initiative is Sarah Low, a Clinical Negligence Solicitor based in our Southport office. Sarah has recently been recognised as a Fertility in the Workplace Ambassador through Fertility Network UK, a leading charity that provides support and guidance to individuals and organisations on fertility matters. Her role as an ambassador is a testament to her passion and commitment to helping others who are facing similar challenges.
Creating a Safe Space for Open Conversations
Sarah’s role within Fletchers Fertility Support involves leading regular virtual coffee mornings with the network members. These sessions provide an open, non-judgmental space where colleagues can share their experiences, discuss their feelings, and connect with others who understand what they are going through. Sarah’s personal experience with fertility issues makes her uniquely equipped to offer empathy, guidance, and support to her colleagues.
“Having gone through the never-ending hamster wheel of fertility issues and IVF treatment myself, I know how isolating it can be,” Sarah shares. “The opportunity to support others going through this journey is incredibly important to me. If I can help anyone feel less alone, then I want to do that.”
Advocating for Change and Support
Beyond offering peer support, Sarah is also committed to driving organisational change within Fletchers. As part of her role as a Fertility in the Workplace Ambassador, she will work closely with HR and line managers to raise awareness of fertility issues and advocate for policies and procedures that offer meaningful support to employees.
“Fletchers Solicitors is already ahead of many other firms in terms of fertility support, but I’m eager to help improve this even further,” Sarah explains. “Having worked at several firms while undergoing treatment, I know how critical it is to have supportive workplace policies in place. I’m proud to be part of a firm that is committed to fostering a supportive environment for all employees.”
The Importance of Fertility Support in the Workplace
Fertility Network UK’s Workplace Ambassador program highlights the need for organisations to recognise and address fertility issues as a vital part of employee well-being. Ambassadors like Sarah are encouraged to recognise the importance of bringing fertility conversations into the workplace, Inspire positive changes through collaboration and support colleagues by providing resources, information, and a listening ear.
At Fletchers, we believe that creating a supportive environment for our employees during challenging times is not just an option—it’s a responsibility. Through initiatives like Fletchers Fertility Support, we aim to foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and real support for all our colleagues.
